FOLLOW THE CHEF DURING THE TREK

Day 3 of trek - Phadkin to Namche.
A very tough 700m uphill, 11km & took us 10 hours.
Fortunately all in good health, except me with some altitude sickness.

TO CREATE THE MOST MEMORABLE DINING EXPERIENCE AT 17,600 ft

  • The chef treks to Mount Everest Base Camp (EBC).
  • On the way, he forages on the slopes of the mighty Himalayas looking for wild produce.
  • He now brings his collective experience to bear in order to create a menu that integrates ingredients, which he has rarely or never used before.
  • The chef also needs to contend with cooking in a low-oxygen environment, which has an impact on the cooking and his health.

Varaul Bhatia

  • A Father and Son Duo

CAPTURED ON CAMERA

  • Camera crew shadows the chef from the moment he starts trekking.
  • Feature-length documentary that captures the chef as he forages for edible forest produce. It provides an incredible view into how the master chef collaborates.
  • How culinary creativity blooms in the restrictions imposed by ingredients on hand and weather conditions.
  • How a heady fine dining experience comes together in the rarefied air of EBC.
  • To be aired on a premium factual/lifestyle channel.
