UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONNAL CENTER FOR YOUNG WOMEN
The Community College is a Vocational Training Center for young women who have succeded the XIIth Standard
Our local partner, YWCA of Madras, is a NGO, founded over 120 years ago. The purpose is to develop professionnal skills for young women, to promote the Woman Human Rights and their role in the largest democracy in the world, regardless of cultural background, faith or caste.
We provide professional training :
Diploma in General Duty Assistant (nurses)
Diploma in Desktop Publishing
Diploma in Geriatric Nursing
The students can add two complementary training courses :
Home Health Aide
Account Executive
The diplomas are recognized by the Open University of Tamil-Nadu. It allows the young women to find a long-term and stable job, to earn a decent salary and be fully integrated in the Society.
In addition, we offer them twice a week karate and self-defense courses, which give them confidence and the ability to face any trouble.
The Vocational Training Center is welcoming 65 young women.
