During the school year, Heart for India covers: the salary of teachers and tuitions, exam registration fees, uniforms and shoes, sports clothes, school materials, including computer equipment.
Nutrition is an key element in our education programs. Before HFI intervened in 2005, there was a rate of absenteeism of 70% in the classes, after lunch.
Thanks to the distribution of a second meal at the end of the afternoon, the children remain at school all day.
Heart for India has implemented Karate classes for the 120 students of the Training Center and 60 young girls in one of our schools. Karate classes aim to empower these girls by getting self-confident and stronger: they also aim to secure them in a dangerous environment for young women.
